Stand Up for Life Essay Contest

Bishop's Distinguished Alumni Award Winner

Bishop's Catholic Scholar Awards 2013
Father Dave Loeper, Nativity BVM HS Chaplain, Connor Holohan, Megan Curry, Lynn Sabol, Nativity BVM HS Principal.
Connor Holohan and Megan Curry, both seniors at Nativity, are Nativity HS's recipients of the Bishop's Catholic Scholar Awards 2013. Connor and Megan received their award at a ceremony at Alvernia University on Saturday, April 20, 2013.

Career Day
On Tuesday, March 26th, Nativity BVM HS, in conjunction with their feeder schools hosted Career Day. 30 presenters, including the Republican's Kevin Keating were on hand to speak and entertain the 350 students in attendance from Assumption BVM School, St Nicholas, Trinity Academy and Nativity.

Presenters included Pottsville Mayor John DW Reiley, Pottsville City Administrator Tom Palamar, County Commisioner George Halcovage, SAPA, Miller Distributing, The Reading Phillies, Phil Schoener from WBRE TV, Vinny Vella from the Philadelphia Daily News, Dr. Wes Schwartz, and McCann School of Business and Technology.

National Honor Society
New members of Nativity BVM High School's National Honor Society were inducted at a special Liturgy and Assembly at the school on January 10, 2013. Student Coat Drive
Students from Nativity High School's Interact Club held a coat drive at the school during the month of November. All coats and warm clothing collected during the month was then donated to Schuylkill Women in Crisis. The coat drive is an annual tradition at the school.

Alumni Girls Basketball Game
The Nativity Golden Girls basketball team held their second Alumni Girls Basketball game and get-together on Saturday, November 24th at the high school. Over 40 former players from the classes of 1975 to present were in attendance. The event, which was held in conjunction with an Open House at the school, drew a crowd of over 250 people.

Bloomsburg Math Competition
Bloomsburg Math Competition. The competition was held on November 13, 2012 and involved 16 schools. Nativity has attended this competition for over ten years. Three of Nativity's teams successfully entered the second round of Quiz Bowl and all teams made it into the second round of the 24 game competition. The names of the students are
